How to Play NOCTURNE — Roles, Tasks and Controls
NOCTURNE is a 3D browser Murder Mystery game about secret roles and escaping a mysterious hotel. Choose your character, find an online match or bring friends together with a room code.
Play for freeThree roles, one story
Innocents complete tasks, collect coins and find a way out. The sheriff must identify and stop the murderer: shooting an innocent eliminates both players. The murderer hunts the guests while keeping their identity secret. Your role is revealed at the start of each round.
Escape the hotel
Every living innocent and sheriff completes four personal tasks. When all tasks are done, the reception exit opens after 8 seconds. All remaining guests must gather at the door; press E to leave together. Eliminated participants do not block the escape.
How to win
Guests win by eliminating the murderer or escaping together with every remaining guest. The murderer wins by eliminating the guests or keeping them inside until the hotel locks down. A round lasts 5 minutes. Weapons are unavailable for the first 12 seconds.
Coins and weapons
An innocent can collect 10 coins to obtain a revolver, or pick up the eliminated sheriff’s weapon. The murderer attacks at close range and has a 10-second recovery after a kill.
Online matches and friends
Select Find a match from the main menu. To play with friends, select With friends, create a room and share its code. Any team member can start the search. Your character appearance does not affect your role.
Controls
WASD or arrow keys to move; mouse to look; Shift to sprint; Space to jump. E for tasks or the exit; Q for your weapon; left click to attack; right click to aim; R to reload; F to move a body; M for the map; Esc for the menu. On mobile, use the joystick and on-screen buttons. Opening the menu does not pause an online match.
